Why Group?
1. The epidemic of disconnection and loneliness A 2023 global survey by Cigna found that 58% of adults report feeling lonely regularly, with young adults being the most affected.
2. Individual therapy alone misses something powerful A meta-analysis of 43 studies (Burlingame et al., 2016) found that group therapy is just as effective as individual therapy for most conditions—and in some cases, more effective for interpersonal issues.
3. The workplace, dating, and family systems are struggling: In a 2023 Harvard Business Review survey, 89% of employees said they struggle with workplace relationships, yet only 16% said they’ve received any training in emotional intelligence or conflict resolution.
4. Individual therapy is incredibly expensive: Group therapy is cheaper than individual. More people can access therapy, and more people can access more therapy. Medicare offers ten rebated group sessions as well as your ten individual.
We’re all burned out from trying to “keep up” while the world spirals. We spend more time curating our online personas than actually knowing ourselves. Modern dating is a dumpster fire, and nobody gave us the rulebook. We’re carrying grief, stress, and uncertainty like a second skin. And deep down, we all just want to feel understood, connected, and a little less alone.
