Culture and
Society

Typically, when we think of mental health we think of the individual. Mental Health is so heavily influenced by our culture and society. What about the mental health of groups of people as a collective? What about the way our mental health is experienced in groups, with groups, as part of groups? Can we diagnose the mental health of our society? Below is some work exploring ways to bring the mental health conversation to the broader framework of our culture and our society.

Inner life drawing

Picture

Join illustrator and artist Oslo Davis and Clinical Psychologist Dr Jarrod White for this unique event combining guided meditation and observational drawing. Think of it as a life drawing class minus the model - you don’t need any prior experience, just a sense of curiosity and an appetite for finding creative flow. This unique workshop is designed to encourage curiosity in your life and work. Come with an open mind and a sense of humour as you hone your drawing skills and learn about the relationship between mindfulness, meditation and creativity.

Potential Psychology: Future Possibilities in Mental Health

In this conversation I talk with Ellen ask the questions: How do we 'scale up' conversations about wellbeing and mental health? Where are the opportunities to provide mental health and wellbeing services in different formats to traditional one-on-one therapy? How can we reach bigger groups and different audiences? What are we missing by keeping psychologists in a therapy room? What is the role of mental health conversation in our community, our professions, our industries and our political arena?
