Dr Jarrod WhiteJarrod is a clinical psychologist working with Groups and Individuals, 18+, exploring meaning in life, the conscious and unconscious mind, relationships with one another, and self-acceptance. Jarrod works with people who are largely curious about their continued experience of suffering. Typically, this looks like people booking in experiencing anxiety, neurodiversity, trauma, depression and mood issues, addictions and obsessions, relationship difficulties, grief and loss, and personality disorders.
Jarrod's individual practice consists of an integrated therapy largely based on a foundation of Psychoanalysis, incorporating a range of cognitive and behavioural approaches. Group therapy forms a strong foundation of Jarrod's practice, the most common framework he uses is an interpersonal processing model. Jarrod completed his clinical Doctorate at Monash University, his thesis titled "Understanding Trauma: a comparison of Sudanese Refugees and Holocaust Survivors". He has since been published in a variety academic Journals. He has worked for over a decade in private practice, and previously consulted as an associate at the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre. Jarrod has often taken his therapy beyond the therapy room, through groups and workshops. In 2023 Jarrod curated a year long program for Landcare based around eco-anxiety. Jarrod also has commonly appeared on Triple J's "the hook up", ABC TV's "Mikki vs the World", and a host of podcasts and other radio programs. |
