Trauma

The published research articles below are adapted from my Doctoral Thesis by publication, "Understanding Trauma: A Cross-Cultural Comparison". Our understanding of Trauma has changed over time. The way it has been explained has changed over time. But how does it change depending on group membership, in the same day and age.
These articles take a deep-dive into trauma and PTSD across cultures, leading to even broader questions around the relationship between culture and mental health.

Beyond the therapy room acknowledges the Wurundjeri Peoples of the Kulin Nations as the Traditional Owners of the land on which we work. We pay respects to the Elders, past, present, and emerging. We acknowledge that Aboriginal sovereignty over land and waters was never ceded.
